Hello, hopefully its me you're looking for

I'm Adrian and I am the reason Adrians Creative exists. Does the title suggest a certain over inflated ego? Are you looking for a pin to burst that bubble? No, as humans we are all creative. However, at some point in our lives creativity packs its bags and leaves pushed out by project targets, children's Saturday football and paying the bills.

My website, adrianscreative.com captures all of the many different creative ideas that creativity has laid upon my table. Yes that does sound a little a Hotel California lyric. Thankfully creativity will never be allows to checkout.

My intention is to inspire each and every one of us to invite creativity back to the table. Every week I will talk about creative experiences from the week.

I am interested in making creativity a habit not a fad. Start a painting even if you do not finish it, write a book even if you do not publish it or just take a photograph. All are creative. All spark creativity. Al have a positive mental wealth effect.

Sometimes creativity is simply choosing to look more closely at the wonderful natural world around us. Sometimes it is arranging a room so it feels right. Sometimes it is the decision to write down a good idea before it disappears.

Invite creativity back into your life. It's a fantastic friend.

Songwriting, Barcelona style

Sangria prior to consumption
Sangria prior to consumption

I had a dream, or rather I did not have a dream. I did not dream for two years which was more disturbing that not knowing where I had left the dog. I wrote a poem at the time to help me come to terms with my lack of dreaming. I have now found the dog and I am dreaming again. Result. I put the poem in a box, moved house and thought nothing more of it.

This week I decided to tidy up. I opened up one box and there, staring back at me was the poem. As a seperate strand I have been working on integrating apps to Claude. One app I found was Suno which is a song writing app. Suddenly the poem morphed into lyrics and the song, I'm not dreaming anymore, sprang into life. Thank you Suno.

Suddenly the idea of an album came charging over the hill and smacked me between the eyes. The next song I wrote related to my ability to drink Sangria really quickly when we were in Barcelona. I poured my partner a glass, I poured myself a glass and by the time my partner had finished her drink the jug of Sangria was gone. Ten minutes tops. Barcelona style drinking.

You can find these songs and a number of others under Write a song on the website.

All you need are lyrics, Suno does the rest. Give it a try.

English wine, you know you want to

The view from Jojo's over the Chilterns

I love English wine. Ever since visiting Three Choirs in Gloucestershire I have been excited about English wine. Then ten years ago I started running the Denbies half marathon which is a race around their vineyard. Now the picture should make sense. You have six places to refuel on water or on wine. What do you think I drank? Honestly! At the end there is a hog roast with a glass of wine. Yes there are easier ways to get a hog roast but not to see the true beauty of a vineyard. In the first year I had to sit in the car for an hour because there were police outside breatherlising the runners, even those walking.

Running on, a couple of years ago I discovered Saddle Goose. A really brilliant and creative, there is that word, winemaker. Flint in Suffolk followed, again creative with their Lab bottles and more recently Jojo's in the Chilterns. This week I helped, I hope, for half a day picking Bacchus grapes, which are similar in style to Sauvignon Blanc but without the New Zealand accent. We also went up to Marlow Vineyard for a wine tasting. All of the English wines are so good.

A number of people comment that they are expensive. No, given Nytimber beat Champagne in a blind tasting to fire the starting pistol for English wine the quality of the wine is exceptional. Its worth it.

I will continue to champion English Wine where I can but I urge you be creative with your wine choice and make it English. You know you want to.
